Congratulations are in order for Colin Carrell, EFH chief procurement officer and vice president, and Heather Herndon-Wright, EFH director of supplier diversity. They have been included in this year’s “Champions of Supplier Diversity” list of honorees by the Minority Business News USA (MBN USA).
The award highlights chief procurement officers and supplier diversity professionals who foster diversity in the supply chain, and Colin and Heather’s inclusion is the latest recognition for EFH, an advocate of supporting the development and utilization of small business, and businesses owned by women, minorities and veterans. At EFH, we recognize that a successful, progressive and innovative supplier diversity initiative not only enhances the economic development of communities, but also strengthens our competitive advantage in the marketplace.
“We’re honored to be recognized by the MBN USA,” says EFH CPO Colin Carrell. “Our commitment to supplier diversity stems from the knowledge that it creates business value for us and also for the community at large.”
Recognition from MBN USA was based on the following key indicators:
- Impactful promotion of supplier diversity to improve companies’ business performances
- Identification of strategic opportunities to include and grow diverse suppliers
- Creation of a positive environment for procurement employees
- Encouragement of innovative ideas among employees and suppliers
“We highlight those diversity programs with strong CPO support and supplier diversity professional champions,” says Don McKneely, chairman and CEO, MBN magazines. “These programs, commitment, best practices and results play a major part in engaging minority-owned businesses in the supply chain. We salute these outstanding leaders and the work they do.”
