Hiring and developing great people is a core value for TXU Energy because the company understands that great people produce great products and services for our customers.
With a festive global theme, 25 departments and employee organizations were on hand for a Career and Development “World Tour.” During the event, representatives were available to provide information on their roles and responsibilities, as well as the education and skill sets employees would need to join particular teams.
Regarding the event, Sondra Healy, TXU Energy senior organization and development specialist said, “Today’s event gave our employees the opportunity to learn about their company and the opportunities that exist for them throughout the organization in a fun and relaxed setting.”
Employee organizations, such as the Women’s Information Network and one of the company’s several Toastmaster International groups, provided information about the skills the groups could help develop as well as their community volunteer opportunities.
In addition to WIN and Toastmasters, TXU Energy employees have a Writer’s Café group, running, biking and soccer teams, a parents at work club and other social and professional development organizations.
Jason Johnson, a door-to-door sales coordinator at TXU Energy, said he appreciated the opportunity to know more about the opportunities around the company. “This is a great way to learn about the company,” he said. “I enjoyed being able to speak with my colleagues and learn what they do.”
