- In 2016, the U.S. solar market is expected to grow 119 percent according to data from GTM Research. The data predicts that there will be 16 GW installed in 2016, doubling the record-breaking 7.3 GWs of solar installed in 2015.
- Texas added 31,400 jobs in January 2016, the 10th consecutive month of job growth in the state. However throughout 2015, the energy industry in Texas lost 61,800 jobs; in January 2016, the state lost 1,700 energy jobs. Despite these losses, in 2015 there were 187,400 jobs added in Texas.
