A nearly daily update of energy-related news:
- Five states (Colorado, New York, California, Virginia and Washington) are moving forward to comply with the Administration’s Clean Power Plan despite this week’s stay by the Supreme Court. The Clean Power Plan requires each state to reduce their CO2 emissions; nationally, the goal is to cut carbon emissions by 32 percent by 2030 from 2005 recorded levels.
- UPS’s Texas fleet will use up to 500,000 gallon equivalents of renewable liquefied natural gas. Stations in Houston and Mesquite will distribute the RLNG to approximately 140 tractors. A UPS spokesman says that by the end of 2017, UPS will have driven one billion miles using the alternative fuel.
