NASA engineering planes to run on electricity; NREL researching transportable microgrids

POV: Power Breakfast

A nearly daily update of energy-related news:

  • The National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) is working with federal labs, the military, Tesla and other organizations to research a transportable microgrid. The transportable microgrid is being designed to be used at military bases and eventually for mass commercialization. The goal of the transportable microgrid is to improve reliability, reduce power fluctuations and decrease emissions.
