- The return of nuclear energy, solar and battery booms and low oil prices are just three of the energy trends to watch in 2016 according to Fortune. Other trends include the decline of coal in developed countries while rising in India.
- Peer-to-peer energy trading will begin in Germany early in the new year. Sonnenbatterie, a German company, has launched a trading platform to buy and sell power across the utility grid. Other similar organizations trade distributed energy around the world including in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States.
