ERCOT sets new wind record; Google's renewable energy portfolio

  • ERCOT set a new wind power output record of 13,883 MW on Sunday, December 20. The new output record number represented 41.27 percent of ERCOT’s load at 11:04 am CST on Sunday. This beats the record that was set on November 25 of 12,971 MW which was 36.86 percent of the load at the time.
  • With a renewable energy portfolio of approximately $3 billion, Google is one of the largest renewable energy owning utilities in the world. Google continues to invest in power related businesses like Nest and other power related companies.
