A nearly daily update of energy-related news:

  • Fuelfix reports that the Dow Chemical Co. and DuPont will consolidate to form DowDuPont.  Together, these two companies are worth nearly $130 billion in combined market capitalization.  The initial merger is set to close in the second half of 2016 with an expected completion date of 2018. DowDuPont will have dual headquarters in Midland, Michigan and Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Ikea, the world’s largest furniture retailer, will buy 1-2 wind farms to help it reach its goal to produce as much electricity as it uses by 2020.
