A nearly daily update of energy-related news:
- Texas House Speaker Joe Straus formed a new Texas House Committee on Federal Environmental Regulation, as stated in the Houston Chronicle. The committee will research how the Administration’s Clean Power Plan will affect the state’s jobs, energy rates and future economic development.
- The Obama administration will attend the White House Summit on Nuclear Energy today to discuss nuclear energy’s role in reducing carbon emissions. This event is in preparation for the international Paris talks to discuss global greenhouse gas emissions held at the end of the month. The Summit will be available through live webcast.
- Natural gas storage levels match the previous record set on November 2, 2012, according to the EIA. Storage levels reached 3,929 Bcf on October 30, 2015, a level that had not been reached since 2012. Looking ahead, the EIA projects Q1 2016 inventories to end at approximately 1,900 Bcf.
