- ERCOT has appointed a new chief operating officer. Cheryl Mele, former deputy general manager and chief operating officer of Austin Energy, will start her new position at ERCOT as of January 1, 2016. Read more on Fuelfix.
- China is one of the few places where the nuclear power section of the energy generation mix is growing. The country is on track to grow their nuclear capacity from 23 gigawatts in 2015 to 58 gigawatts in 2020 to 200 gigawatts by 2040 says the EPRI Journal. Currently, China has 27 operating reactors and 26 under development.
- A company in Bristol, Virginia, plans to convert methane gas to electricity by the end of 2015. The facility is projected to cost $4.5 million and will produce 6 megawatts of power – enough to power roughly 6,000 homes.
