The CMO Club, an international association of heads of marketing, has named Sydney Seiger a winner in the “Rising Star” category of the 2015 CMO Awards. The category recognizes marketing executives who have less than 10 years of marketing experience for demonstrated capabilities in leading an organization, marketing innovation and leading the growth agenda.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Sydney leads TXU Energy’s residential and business marketing and brand strategy, commodity product development, advertising, digital marketing and consumer insights to drive long-term growth. She rejoined TXU Energy in 2014 from La Quinta Holdings, where her focus was marketing strategy, decision support, and assessment.
“Sydney has been instrumental in our efforts to differentiate TXU Energy amid intense competition in Texas’ retail electricity market,” said TXU Energy CEO Jim Burke. “Her relentless focus on ensuring a dynamic, responsive and sustainable customer relationship is key to our success and we celebrate her achievement.”
Before joining La Quinta, Sydney served as director of consumer insights, brand management, and marketing at TXU Energy, where she built the consumer insights function and led the development and launch of the new TXU Energy brand in 2010. She held increasing levels of responsibility at Reliant Energy and TXU Energy before that.
Seiger holds a doctorate in applied social psychology with an emphasis in quantitative research methodology, a master’s in sociology, and a bachelor’s in sociology and social work from Baylor University.
