TXU Energy this week released two videos highlighting the very personal and the very broad impact of agencies and programs that are in place to help Texans when they are most in need.
The videos focus on TXU Energy AidSM, the largest bill-payment assistance program among all competitive retail electricity providers in the United States. However, there’s even more to the story.
As partners in the more than 30-year-old program note, helping families keep their lights on allows them to focus on their families and their recovery to self-sufficiency.
“When a client finds out that Energy Aid assistance is available for them they know they don’t have to decide which one (food or electricity) they are going to be able to do,” said Teddie Story, chief executive officer of Irving Cares, one of the original TXU Energy Aid partners. “They know that there is a solution.”
TXU Energy customer Mary Wells, whose cancer diagnosis and treatment interrupted her career, summed up her response to ease and speed of the help provided by TXU Energy Aid partner Duncanville Outreach Ministries: “I was shocked. I was really, really, really, really shocked.”
TXU Energy Aid is funded by the company, its employees, customers and other donors and 100 percent of contributions go exclusively to helping TXU Energy customers who are in financial crisis to pay their electricity bill.
TXU Energy customer Mary Wells talks about her experience with the company and its bill-payment assistance program.
