Solar installations on record pace, Clean Power Plan battle continues

  • The U.S. is on track to install a record 7.7 gigawatts of solar power this year, putting total solar capacity at more than 20 gigawatts, Bloomberg reports.
  • Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday he will continue work to block the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan rules. The Hill writes: “That includes using the appropriations process to block the rule, or a measure of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act. He also repeated his call for state governors to refuse compliance with the rule, questioning whether it will survive legal challenges.”
