Where Texas ranks in total energy costs; State regulators make final Clean Power Plan pleas

POV: Power Breakfast

A nearly daily round-up of news for your consideration:

  • Texas ranks right in the middle of the nation’s total energy costs and electricity prices by state, with monthly electricity costs ranked 46th, Texas Energy Report writes of a new report from Wallet Hub. “”Keep in mind that lower prices don’t always equate with lower costs, as consumption is a key determinant in the total amount of an energy bill,” the Wallet Hub experts note.”
  • State regulators are in Washington today to make last-minute pleas for changes to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. From The Wall Street Journal report:

“People who have met with federal representatives say the meetings are short and give participants just enough time to summarize the chief points of written filings that often run hundreds, or even thousands, of pages. There’s no way to know how many changes will be made to the draft rule, attendees say, because Obama administration officials aren’t showing their cards.”
