- The governors of 10 states, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, signed a letter urging the Environmental Protection Agency scrap plans to lower the nation’s ozone limits. Abbott told the Associated Press Monday the new standards would “stifle economic growth and job creation.”
- A bill filed in the Texas legislature would prohibit the introduction of a capacity market in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas without amending the 20 percent market share cap on installed generating capacity, Retail Energy X reports.
- The country’s overall residential electricity prices increased about 3 percent last year as compared to 2013, driven by higher regional wholesale prices, increased spending on infrastructure and growing renewable generation requirements, Fuel Fix reports.
