Small increase in Texas electric complaints; Bill would authorize PUCT to ban REPs from market

  • Consumers filed about 5 percent more electric complaints with the Public Utility Commission of Texas in 2014 over the previous year’s record low volume, Energy Choice Matters reports, while violations of the commission’s rules decreased about 2 percent.
  • A Texas Senate bill would grant the PUCT authority to ban a retail electric provider from the market if the commission suspends, revokes or amends that REP’s certificate, Retail Energy X reports.
