  • The energy storage industry is celebrating the country’s largest grid-connect storage purchase, which will provide 261 megawatts of storage capability in California, Forbes reports.
  • “The North American Electric Reliability Corp., a nonprofit that assures adequate voltage and power reserves to keep the electric grid functioning, urged the Environmental Protection Agency to consider delaying the first deadline” in the Clean Power Plan, warning that the proposed timeline “does not provide enough time to develop sufficient resources to ensure continued reliable operation of the electric grid by 2020,” Bloomberg reports.
  • Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, who disputes the idea that that increasing carbon dioxide emissions causes climate change, likely will replace Barbara Boxer as chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee when the GOP takes control of the Senate next year, the Washington Post says.
