However, “Republicans probably will fall short of far-reaching goals such as blocking emissions limits on power plants proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency.”
  • Justice Department attorneys have asked the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to dismiss a “premature” lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency’s climate rule, saying the court has no jurisdiction over regulations that have not been finalized, The Hill reports.
  • Large-scale carbon capture and storage projects rose to 22 in 2014, but the high costs continue to discourage wide investment, Reuters reports.
