- The world’s largest carbon capture project planned for just southwest of Houston is expected to convert 1.6 million tons of a power plant’s carbon emissions into flue gas, which will piped to an oil field and injected underground to boost production, the Houston Business Journal reports.
- The White House is due to announce an initiative on Wednesday designed to guard the nation’s electricity supply during extreme weather that damages power lines and increases demand, the New York Times reports. The Department of Agriculture will award $236.3 million to improve electricity infrastructure in the rural areas of eight states.
