TXU Energy makes “free” even freer for customers, shifts demand on grid away from peak hours

TXU_FreeNights_May2014_448x132TXU Energy today launched an enhanced version of its TXU Energy Free Nights plan – a time-based savings electricity plan that gives customers free electricity – that includes even more hours for customers to take advantage of opportunities to save.

“Free Nights” may sound familiar: TXU Energy was the first retail electricity provider in Texas to launch this type of plan two years ago, and it became the most in-demand plan in the company’s history, sending more than 100,000 Texans clambering to sign up and save. The new TXU Energy Free Nights gives residential and business consumers even more hours of free electricity from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night, all year long.

TXU Energy Free Nights enables customers to have complete control over their consumption habits and further extend their savings opportunities once they realize the benefit in shifting usage to off-peak, free hours.

For TXU Energy, we continue building consumer trust when we deliver on our promise to provide the right things, right now, helping customers save, giving them greater control and supplying strong value in their plan and customer service.

And the state power grid gets a break, too – with tens of thousands of customers shifting usage away from on-peak hours, the grid receives relief so it can operate reliably.

With its suite of Right Time PricingSM plans like TXU Energy Free Nights, TXU Energy continues prioritizing solutions that help customers recognize the value of managing when and how they use electricity, reduce their spending, and alleviate strain from our state’s hard-working power grid.
